The Regiment of Roughnecks Marches to State!

The White Oak Band recently marched at Carthage for Area marching contest, October 24th. Being the only military band, White Oak placed 3rd overall.

The band has worked from the end of summer, to right now on their routine, sharpening up their mistakes. Even in desperate situations, White Oak band made it through.

“We put in a lot of work with the band, especially on Monday nights. Flag has been stressful, especially with the fact that two of the band students failed before the Area contest.” Said senior flag captain Paige Bagley. “We moved two of our flags into the band and had to rework all of our features for flag. It was very stressful, but I’m proud of them.”

Many people believe that the band would be anxious about getting the results, but Junior Adrian Synder obviously disagrees.

“I was feeling pretty confident and excited that I was able to get a second chance at the state contest, but I never really felt scared.” Synder said. “I knew that we were going to advance to state because we are White Oak!”
