The topic of my article is about a Muslim boy who brought his own created clock to school, and getting arrested for it.   “#IStandWithAhmed: Twitter lights up in support of Muslim teen detained for bringing homemade clock to school.” I got the article at Yahoo News. The article is about how many people are standing up for Ahmed, tweeting #IStandWithAhmed. Even President Obama, who asked Ahmed to come to the White House, supports him. Many people tweet pictures of themselves with their clocks, mocking the idiocy of Ahmed’s arrest. I believe this is totally malarkey! It’s crazy how a clock could possibly even look like a bomb, but one of the other reasons he could have been arrested is because he is Muslim. BUT, what makes me really happy, is that many people are supporting him,  such as Hillary Clinton and Steve jobs. Steve jobs even posted, “The future belongs to people like Ahmed. Keep building.” This event really doesn’t affect me much, so I don’t know what to say about that. The event DOES effect the world though. So many people have the same religion as Ahmed, and are probably treated horribly by their peers for the same reason. Plus, this brings a new point of view to the world; Why are so many people so afraid of bombings, that they would think a ninth grader would build a bomb? Is fear already consuming this country without us even knowing it?
